A Man of Contrasts
Placing two totally different elements together enable you to see both more clearly. Aaron White - singer, songwriter, flute maker, composer, and musician - is a man of such contrasts. His heritage and his flutes tether to the ancient Navajo and Ute cultures, but he grew up in urban California so he plays a mean guitar. You'll find him playing and singing everywhere from a presidential inaugural ball to a benefit concert at Arizona's San Francisco Peaks. On one day, he's reco rding a film sound track of his compositions: on another he's awakening young minds as an artist-in-residence.
Traveling in Good Company to Great Places
Aaron has shared the stage - and held his own- with such internationally famous artists as Jackson Browne, John Densmore of the Doors, Shawn Colvin, Lyle Lovett, Taj Mahal, Chaka Khan, Michael Nerada Walden, Jefferson Starship's Greg Chiquiso, Redbone, Bruce Cockburn, and many others throughout his career.
“I want to thank Bruce Cockburn for turning us onto Burning Sky. “- Jackson Browne
He's been seen and heard in some amazing venues, including the NBC Today Show, the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and one of the Clinton Inaugural Balls in 1997, 2003 Grammy Party, Bitter End, New York, Good Morning American Studios, Time Square 2003. His work has been featured on Acoustic Café, a show airing on more than 22 radio stations nationwide; NHK Television in Japan; and All Things Considered on National Public Radio. Aaron was also nominated for a Grammy 2003 Best Native American album. Aaron also won the 2003 Native American Music Award, Duo Group of the Year, for the `Spirits of the Wind' CD.
Hearing and Believing
